Scheduled Auto DM ⏰📩
What is a scheduled Auto DM?
A scheduled Auto DM is for moments that have to be announced at a set time — an event, a launch, applications opening. You collect requests to be notified in advance, then send the Auto DM to everyone at once at the moment you choose.
It suits situations like:
- 🚀 Event launches
- 🎟️ Applications and bookings opening
- 🛍️ Product drops
- 📣 Limited announcements
How it works 🔄
- Set up an Auto DM from the Auto DM menu.
- While you are there, choose Scheduled rather than Send immediately, and set the time.
- When your audience comments, the system confirms the request with an auto comment reply straight away. It may appear slightly later, depending on your auto comment reply delay setting.
-
The Auto DM does not go out yet.
→ Sending begins at the time you scheduled.
→ Everyone who asked to be notified receives it at the same moment.
Example messages 💡
- Auto comment reply (sent immediately)
- “Thanks for asking to be notified 😊 We will let you know the moment the event starts!”
- Scheduled Auto DM (at launch)
- “🎉 The event has just started! Apply now ⬇️”
It builds anticipation and gives people a clear sequence to follow.
It follows your Auto DM and comment reply settings ⚙️
A scheduled Auto DM and its auto comment reply follow whatever is set on the Auto DM & message page:
- Auto comment reply ON → works as normal
- Auto comment reply OFF → the auto comment reply for the scheduled Auto DM is switched off too
This is what keeps the two sets of settings consistent.
Important: Instagram’s 7-day limit ⚠️
The Auto DM has to be sent within 7 days of the follower leaving the comment asking to be notified.
⏳ After 7 days, Instagram’s policy blocks the Auto DM from going out.
This is Instagram’s own rule, and there is no way around it.
What about comments left after the scheduled time? 🔔
Once the Auto DM has started going out, anyone who leaves a new request comment receives the Auto DM straight away.
