Instagram restriction warnings 🚨
What is restriction warning detection?
Restriction warning detection is a safety system. Kittychat picks up the early restriction signals Meta (Instagram) sends, tells you about them, then adjusts your settings automatically to lower the risk of your account being limited.
It is designed to protect your account particularly when you are using comment-based automation.
To use this feature, switch the toggle on from the settings page inside Auto DM & message.
Auto DM vs auto comment replies ⚖️
- 📩 Auto DM is relatively safe, even at fairly high volumes.
- 💬 Auto comment replies carry more restriction risk when the pace or frequency is high.
Public comments are highly visible, so Instagram reacts more sensitively to repeated auto comment reply activity within a short time.

Picks up risk signals before a major restriction — a DM sending limit, for instance — actually lands.

Tells you by email as soon as a warning signal is detected.
What happens when a warning signal is detected?
Kittychat responds in stages, according to the level of risk.
First and second detection
- 📩 An email alert is sent
- ⏱️ The gap between auto comment replies is increased automatically, slowing the pace
Third detection
- 🛑 Kittychat stops the auto comment reply system immediately
- 📩 Auto DM keeps working as normal
Bear in mind that a restriction can begin before the third risk signal arrives. A first restriction usually means DM use is suspended for 5–7 days.
Auto DM keeps running safely ✅
Even when auto comment replies are stopped, the Auto DM system is generally safe and carries on working.
That means you can keep using DM-based automation while the account rests.
When should you resume auto comment replies? ⏰
Instagram does not publish its internal thresholds, so there is no waiting period that is guaranteed safe.
What we recommend:
- Leave auto comment replies off for a generous stretch of time
- Keep watching your account status and how engagement changes
- Resume gradually when you do
Playing it conservatively is the safest thing for your account over the long run.
